Danilo De Luca was born in Naples, a city where every note seems to breathe with the sea. At just ten years old, he entered the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella — the oldest conservatory in the world — where his talent propelled him directly into the fourth year, an early sign of a destiny already written in music.

In 1997, he graduated in flute with highest honors and First Prize, distinguishing himself among the finest students of the Conservatory. The award concert did not go unnoticed: his performance deeply moved the audience and captured the attention of music critics.

His journey soon led him to perform with a wide range of orchestral ensembles, from chamber music to symphonic orchestras, in Italy and abroad. Alongside his performing career, he cultivated a strong vocation for teaching, first as an assistant at the Naples Conservatory and later in various schools and national institutions.
It was, however, through working with students with special needs — including autism, Down syndrome, and other challenges — that music revealed its most transformative power. These experiences led him to a profound realization: music can speak where words fall silent.

Driven by this insight, he chose to deepen his studies in music therapy at the University of Pescara, where he earned a second Master’s degree in 2006. A new horizon opened — one shaped by listening, empathy, and harmonies that heal.

At the same time, his artistic refinement never ceased. In 2014, he moved to France to study piccolo with the renowned Jean-Louis Beaumadier. Two years later, he obtained his diploma with distinction, and the jury, chaired by Maxence Larrieu, awarded him the First Grand Prize of the City of Marseille.

In 2018, he earned the State Diploma as Professor of Flute at ISDAT in Toulouse. Since then, he has continued to weave together, with grace and passion, two inseparable identities: that of the teacher and that of the performer.

He is regularly invited to international festivals such as the Volos Evmelia Festival in Greece and performs in prestigious venues including the Kouvoutsaki Museum in Athens. As a soloist, he has collaborated with numerous orchestras, including the Orchestra dei Laghi, the Italian Youth Orchestra, the Pescara Symphony Orchestra, and the Multicultural Mediterranean Orchestra. He currently performs as soloist and piccolo player with the Carthage Symphony Orchestra of Tunis, touring extensively throughout the Mediterranean region.

His name has been included in the New Encyclopedia of Neapolitan Music, edited by Pietro Gargano, among the finest interpreters of the Neapolitan musical tradition. A recognition that confirms a deeper truth: Danilo De Luca is not merely a flutist. He is a storyteller of emotions, entrusting his narrative to the clear, luminous voice of his instrument.
